Website Launch: Friends Of Bosque Del Apache
Friends Of Bosque Del Apache contacted Studio Hill Design to find a solution to an overwhelming problem. The task: replace their existing outdated custom website which was no longer being supported, to a modern website built with future upgrades in mind. Studio Hill Design was able to replace the proprietary database and CMS with a WordPress website that not only remedied the underlying problem but dramatically improved the overall design and user experience. The migration maintained all of the existing content in place, while providing a practical and affordable foundation for growth over time.

Mural Tours around the World – Studio Hill Design & MurosAbq.com, Off the Beaten Path
GraffitiMundo is Spanish for Graffiti World. And clearly, street art has become a worldwide phenomenon. When I took that fateful tour with GrafittiMundo in Argentina last February, I had no idea it would inspire an entirely new focus for Studio Hill Design. Now, after months of building MurosABQ.com, our website directory of Albuquerque’s high quality murals, the adventure continues. This year, my destination was San Miguel de Allende in Mexico. The local group Muros en Blanco has worked with international artists and Mexican government entities to create an entirely new mural scene in SMdA all since 2012, when murals first became legal.
The following images are a few samples of the hundreds of quality murals that can be seen in this beautiful city. (If you’re in the neighborhood, check out the walking tour offered by Muros en Blanco.) Clearly, Albuquerque has room for more great street art!

Local designer Sandy Hill took a trip to Argentina and upon returning was inspired to highlight and honor Albuquerque’s public art in the ways that other world-class cities do.

Value of street art recognized and celebrated in Albuquerque
Word gets around. Check out this nice little feature on MurosAbq.com from our friends down south. It seems even our neighbors appreciate the unique resource that our local artists provide in Albuquerque. Could a MurosRuidoso be on the horizon?
“Albuquerque is an art-filled city, and street art is such an authentic reflection of our heart, soul and people. These pieces deserve our attention.”
MurosABQ.com in the News
Take a look at this awesome television report from local station KRQE about why we built MurosABQ.com Thanks for the sweet report by Allison Martinez.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Murals are everywhere around Albuquerque, and now there’s a website highlighting the best of them and helping you find them.
“There’s something just so artsy about here, I just love driving through,” said muralist Amelia Richardson. “You get to see so many murals and so many mosaics that you don’t get anywhere else.”
Portraying everything from nature and tradition, to history and religion, there’s an abundance of murals around Albuquerque.
